Tajikistan once again expressed its readiness to assist the international community in delivering humanitarian aid to the people of Afghanistan thorough its territory.

Tajikistan’s Ambassador to Russia Davlatshoh Gulmahmadzoda has stated this during a meeting with the European Union Special Envoy for Afghanistan Tomas Niklasson, says the press center of the Tajik Embassy in Moscow.

“Noting transportation and logistics capabilities of Tajikistan, Ambassador Gulmahmadzoda expressed Tajikistan’s readiness to assist the international community in delivering humanitarian aid to the people of Afghanistan through its territory,” the Embassy’s press center said.

In the course of the talks, the parties reportedly also exchanged views on the current situation in Afghanistan and possible threat to regional security.

They emphasized the significance of expansion of further cooperation between Tajikistan and the European Union in promoting an early settlement of the intra-Afghan crisis and economic reconstruction of this country, the Embassy’s press center added.
