Iran’s state-run news agency IRNA reported on August 23 that the Iranian Ambassador to Tajikistan Mohammad Taghi Saberi and Tajikistan's Parliament Speaker Mahmadtoir Zokirzoda have emphasized the development of relations between the two countries in all areas, including the parliamentary fields.
A delegation of members of the Parliamentary Friendship Group of Iran and Tajikistan reportedly attended Tajikistan’s capital, Dushanbe, at the invitation of Mahmadtoir Zokirzoda, Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament).
During the visit, Iran’s parliamentary delegation met and held talks with Tajik parliamentary and government officials and exchanged views on expanding the level of parliamentary relations plus accelerating economic, commercial, cultural, and other issues of mutual interest.
