Tajik President Emomali Rahmon today met here with his Kyrgyz counterpart Sadyr Japarov, who arrived in Dushanbe for participation in the Fifth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia, according to the Tajik president’s official website.
In the course of the talks, Emomali Rahmon reportedly expressed confidence that the results of the fifth Central Asian summit will effectively contribute to the development of positive processes in the Central Asian region.
The parties discussed state and prospects of further expansion of the bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan and spoke in favor of continuing regular political dialogue, especially at the highest level.
In the course of the talks, the parties also discussed a number of international and regional issues being of mutual interest.
