On Thursday February 22, the Resident Representative of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) in Tajikistan (AKDN), Qozidavlat Qoimdodov, was received by the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Ismatullo Nasredin.
Press release issued by AKDN Tajikistan says that during the meeting, the parties discussed the long-term cooperation between AKDN and the Government of Tajikistan and the goals for expanding future cooperation.
Currently, AKDN and its agencies operate in 64 districts across the country, including the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO), Khatlon and Sughd provinces, and districts subordinate to the center.
Over 28 years, AKDN, comprising of 10 agencies employing 3,500 people, has been active in many spheres, including economic development, education, health, agriculture, environmental protection, telecommunications, energy, small and medium-sized enterprises, tourism, development of rural areas, cultural restoration, and financial services.
