Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon today morning left for working visit to Turkmenistan.
The Tajik president’s official website says Foreign Minister, Presidential Advisers for Foreign Relations and Social Developments, and some other high-ranking Tajik officials are accompanying Emomali Rahmon on his visit to Turkmenistan.
According to some sources, Rahmon is expected to hold a number of bilateral meetings in Ashgabat.
Meanwhile, Turkmen media reports say Turkmenistan’s capital is hosting an international forum entitled “Interconnection of Times and Civilizations – the Basis of Peace and Development”, dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi.
Presidents of more than 10 countries, as well as heads of international organizations, including the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY), the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and UNESCO are expected to participate in the event.
The forum is being held in three locations: the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and Ashgabat’s Yyldyz and Garagum hotels.
Interfax news agency reports that Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the international forum dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi.
While in Ashgabat, Putin is expected to meet with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian
