DUSHANBE, October 20, Asia-Plus -- Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev, Chairman of the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament) and also Mayor of Dushanbe, has been awarded a medal “For Strengthening of Peace and Conciliation Between the Peoples,” the mayoral press service reported.
Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor, said that bestowing the medal on Ubaidulloyev, Vladimir Fedosov, the head of the International Federation for Peace and Conciliation, said that due to the efforts of Ubaidulloyev and President Emomali Rahmonov peace, had been reestablished in Tajikistan. According to the spokesman, Fedosov also highly praised Ubaidulloyev’s role in the improvement of the Tajik capital, which had been given the title of the City of Peace.
