DUSHANBE, January 15, Asia-Plus -- On January 11, Dushanbe Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev signed a resolution seeking co-investors to construct a 16-story residential building and shopping center in the Abuali Sino Street in the Tajik capital.
Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor, said that under this resolution, co-investors may participate in construction of 40 percent of an overall floor space of the residential building and 100 percent of the shopping center.
The spokesman added that the resolution had been passed for the purpose of providing educational and medical workers, as well as scientists and representatives from media with housing on preferential terms. “Any person interested may become co-investor; co-investor receives apartment in this residential building not at market price but at cost price,” Saidov said.
According to the spokesman, after a formal acceptance of the building, the mayor’s office will distribute 12 of 72 (60%) of apartments to young teachers.
We will recall that the construction of this 120-apartment residential building in the Abuali Sino Street was resumed in the second half-year of 2006. The main contractor of this project is the construction association Storyservice and sub-contractor is Turkey’s Ozen Insaat.
As it had been reported earlier, by mayor’s resolution passed last year companies building residential buildings in Dushanbe will transfer a certain number of apartments to the jurisdiction of the mayor’s office. They will be made available to Dushanbe residents. Under this resolution, companies building residential buildings in Circle 1 must transfer 15 percent of the total number of apartments to the mayor’s office; companies constructing residential buildings in Circle 2 transfer 13 percent and companies constructing residential buildings in Circle 3 transfer 10 percent.
