DUSHANBE, March 12, Asia-Plus - On Saturday March 10, President Emomali Rahmonov took part in a subbotnik (voluntary work) at the Kokhi Istiqlol (Palace of Independence; formerly Exhibition of Economic Achievements or VDNK) in Dushanbe.
According to presidential press service, employees of the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT) and AmonatBonk (Tajik savings bank) took part in this subbotnik.
Last autumn, the territory of the former VDNK totaling 48 hectares was transferred to jurisdiction of President’s Executive Office and they plan to lay out Istiqlol (Independence) Park there.
Last Saturday alone, some 7,000 decorative and fruit trees were planted there.
