DUSHANBE, March 20, Asia-Plus -- President Emomali Rahmonov today morning attended groundbreaking ceremonies for the construction of Youth Place in the center of Dushanbe and residential complex on the Hofiz Sherozi Street.
On the residential complex, Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor, said that it will include eight 9-story residential buildings with an overall space 36,664 square meters. The complex is scheduled to be finished in a year, the spokesman said.
According to Saidov, a total cost of this project is 43,630,160 somonis and 640 builders are involved in the construction of this complex.
The spokesman noted that the complex is intended for families, whose residential buildings are to be pulled down in connection with the second stage of the construction of Tajik National University’s campus on the bank of the Dushanbinka River as well as for young families and representatives from social sphere (culture, healthcare and culture).
As far as the Youth Place is concerned, it will be built in the center of Dushanbe, in the place of Badakhshon caf? in the center of Dushanbe, opposite Russian-Tajik Slavic University (RTSU).
Shavkat Saidov said that the Youth Palace will be a four-story building to house the committee for youth, sports and tourism, family planning center, the committee for women’s affairs, wedding shop, restaurant, sports and cultural centers, etc. Exhibition of young painters will be held in the Youth Palace
The spokesman said that 9.7 million somonis had been provided from the city budget for the first stage of the construction of the palace, but for the second stages the mayor’s office will enlist service of local entrepreneurs through holding open tender.
