DUSHANBE, May 2, Asia-Plus -- President Emomali Rahmon has ordered the government to project a concept of information policy of the country.
In his April 30 address to parliament, Rahmon noted that information policy as a key component of domestic and foreign policy should facilitate implementation of norms of the Constitution on creation of sovereign, democratic, rule-of-law and secular state.
According to him, media should publish, first of all, materials promoting development of self-consciousness, fostering patriotism and propagating historical and cultural values of the people, taking into consideration the advanced views of time and the best cultural achievements of mankind.
The president pointed to the necessity of providing constitutional right of person of information and making available to international community trustworthy information about events taking place in Tajikistan.
