KULOB, June 4, Asia-Plus -- The Kulob chief architect Davlat Jumayev has been appointed to head the municipal economy department of the Kulob mayor’s office and the Kulob mayor office has announced a competition to fill the position of chief architect.

A source at the Kulob mayor’s office told Asia-Plus that the new Kulob chief architect will be competitively selected within the next few days.

According to him, under the new general plan for development of the city, Kulob should become a city with a 250,000 population.  

In the meantime, the Kulob mayor has reshuffled a number of local officials since the beginning of the year.  In March, the head of the Kulob municipal waterworks was replaced, and director of local cannery and the head of the Kulob agency for management of state-owned property were dismissed in April-May.
