DUSHANBE, June 7, Asia-Plus -- The 11th session of the upper house (Majlisi Milli) of the Tajik parliament presided over by its chairman, Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev, has opened in Dushanbe today morning.
The session is aiming to consider 13 laws adopted by the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) in May.
Among laws to be considered at the session are the president-initiated amendments to the country’s law on public service and administrative code as well as the law on the order of observing national traditions and rituals
A decision on this was made at a meeting of the Majlisi Milli board that was held in Dushanbe Wednesday. The board members considered also considered amendments made to the advertisement law. Under the amendments, the advertising activity is not liable to licensing.
The board meeting also discussed amendments to a number of other laws. The amendments were made in connection with bringing them into compliance with president’s decree of November 30, 2006 on a new structure of organs of the executive power and the laws on licensing certain types of activities and inspection of activity of economic entities.
