DUSHANBE, June 19, Asia-Plus - The government discussed issues related to socioeconomic development of the provinces at a June 18 meeting presided over by President Emomali Rahmon. 

According to presidential press service, Emomali Rahmon ordered to provide additional 20 million somonis to the Sughd province and 9 million somonis to Gorno Badakhshan. 

In the Sughd province, the provided funds will go to providing small loans to rural entrepreneurs in the Chorkuh and Vorukh jamoats of Isfara (6 million somonis), renovating educational and health facilities and rehabilitating roads in the Isfara district (3.9 million somonis), renovating health facilities and tackling subsoil waters problem in the Mastchoh district (4 million somonis), as well as constructing a new stadium in Khujand (2 million somonis).

In Gorno Badakhshan, the provided funds will be spent to renovate and reconstruct stadium and the Regional Theatre named after Mehrubon Nazarov in Khorog, construct presidential lyceum in Khorog, as well as renovate schools in Vanj, Darvoz, Ishkashim and Roshtqala districts.  

Besides, 8 million somonis will be provided to renovate cultural facilities and rehabilitate cultural relics in the northern district of Panjakent on occasion of celebration of the 1150th anniversary of the founder of Tajik-Persian literature Abu Abdullo Rudaki.  

The president also ordered to provide 10 million somonis for purchasing computers for secondary schools in the country.  

The meeting also considered issues related to projecting a program for socioeconomic development of the Mastchoh district in 2007-2015, investment projects for rehabilitation of water supply system in Khujand and rehabilitation of industry in the Isfara district.  

The head of state also gave commission to open branches of banks in all remote mountain areas as well as increase amounts of small loans for supporting small and medium enterprises, in particular in the northern districts of Konibodom, Panjakent, and Ayni.
