DUSHANBE, September 27, Asia-Plus – Khovar – Issues related to state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and the Great Britain were major topics of a meeting of Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov with Ms. Sue Wardel, Director of the Europe, Middle East, Americas and Asia Division, the UK Department for International Development (DFID), that was held in Dushanbe on September 26.
The Tajik national news agency Khovar said that during the meeting, Tajik prime minister had noted that one of key tasks of the country’s government is to improve living conditions of the population. He highly appraised a level of many-sided cooperation of Tajikistan with foreign countries and international organizations. For her part, Ms. Wardel expressed satisfaction with progressive economic development of Tajikistan and a progress of implementation of the poverty reduction strategy program in the country, Khovar said.
In the course of the talks the two also exchanged views on ways to establish fruitful cooperation in the fields of science, education, health care and tourism.
