DUSHANBE, November 26, Asia-Plus -- On Friday November 23, President Emomali Rahmon visited Khatlon’s Danghara district to get acquainted with economic situation there and attend inauguration of a number of socioeconomic and cultural facilities in the district, presidential press service said.  

His working trip to Danghara the president started with acquaintance with a progress of construction of a new building of the Danghara airport and reconstruction of its runway.

After that, Emomali Rahmon visited the central district hospital, where he attended an official opening of a new building of the surgical department, which is provided with the state-of-the-art medial equipment from Germany, Italy and Russia.  Specialists say that they now can perform some 60 operations per month.  

During his stay in Danghara, the head of state also took part in the groundbreaking ceremony for construction of a new building for the branch of Tajik Agriculture University in Danghara, which trains specialists for Khatlon’s Kulob region. 

At present the Danghara branch of Tajik Agriculture University has 560 students, while after completion of construction of the new building some 2,500 students will study at the Danghara branch.  A total project cost is 25 million somonis.  

The president also familiarized himself with a progress of construction of a new chaikhana (Tajik national teahouse) in Danghara.  Some 60 builders are involved in construction of the teahouse and they monthly receive from 450 to 500 somonis for their work. .

Rahmon noted that Danghara is one of Tajikistan’s largest agrarian districts and has good potentials for development of grain and cotton growing as well as animal husbandry.
