DUSHANBE, April 25, Asia-Plus  - The minimum wage will increase to 60 somonis (TJS) and the minimum pension will increase to 50 somonis starting from July this year, President Rahmon said during an address to a joint session of parliament on April 25.  

According to him, wages of medical workers and researchers will also increase.  

President Rahmon noted that the monthly wage in the education sector will also increase starting from the new academic year.  

The maximum monthly pension rate will increase to 300 somonis starting from July, the head of state said.  

We will recall that at present the minimum monthly wage in all sectors of the country’s economy and the minimum monthly pension are twenty somonis.

President Rahmon further added that they will consider the issue of increasing wages of public servants, and officers of the law enforcement and power-wielding structures as well.   “One of purposes of taking such measures is to reduce and eradicate corruption in the country,” Rahmon said.
