KHUAJND, September 10, 2008, Asia-Plus -- President Emomali Rahmon, who is currently in the Sughd province to attend celebrations to mark the 17th anniversary of Tajikistan’s Independence and the 1,150th birth anniversary of founder of Tajik-Persian classical literature Abu Abdullo Roudaki, yesterday participated in a ceremony of an official opening of the Tajik-Iranian joint spinning mill NIKU-Khujand.
The rated capacity of this enterprise is up to 3,000 tons of cotton fiber per year.
During his stay in Khujand, Rahmon also attend the groundbreaking ceremony for construction of a new building of the University of Law, Business and Politics and visited the national orchard Vahdat (Unity), which was officially opened in the city on March 20, 2008. A total area of the orchard is 18 hectares
In the city of Istaravshan, the president attended the ceremony of launching a new juice-producing line at the bottled water and soft drinks producer Obi Zulol.
