DUSHANBE, January 5, 2010, Asia-Plus  -- Dushanbe Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev yesterday held a meeting to discuss preparations for a Day of Dushanbe Residents’ Solidarity for Construction of Roghun HPP.

As it had been reported earlier, by decision adopted by the 20th session of the Dushanbe legislature (Majlis) of the third convocation on December 24, 2009 January 6, 2010 is declared as Day of Dushanbe Residents’ Solidarity for Construction of Roghun HPP.  The legislature also passed a resolution on buying Roghun shares under which, 10 million somoni will be provided from the Dushanbe budget for 2010 for acquiring the shares due to reducing some expenditure items of the budget and selling apartments that were transferred to the mayor’s office by companies constructing apartment buildings in the Tajik capital.  The assessed value of this real estate is 2.2 million somoni.

We will recall that under the mayor’s resolution passed in 2006, companies constructing apartment in Circle 1 (the center of Dushanbe) must transfer 15 percent of the total number of apartments to the mayor’s office; companies constructing apartment buildings in Circle 2 transfer 13 percent and companies constructing apartment buildings in Circle 3 transfer 10 percent.

Meanwhile, speaking at yesterday’s meeting, Ubaidulloyev noted that outlets for realization of shares in Roghun would be opened in all four Dushanbe’s districts.

Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor’s office, says that according to the preliminary estimates, some 30,000 families in Dushanbe are going to buy shares in Roghun for 5,000 somoni each.

The mayor also called on heads of Dushanbe-based enterprises and organizations to be active in buying shares in Roghun.

Shares in the Roghun hydroelectric power plant (HPP) will be available fro trading on Tajikistan’s stock market on January 6, 2010.  The face value of one share is 100 somoni and they will also issue the Certificates of Shares of different face values – in 500, 1000, 5000 and so on somoni.  Enterprises and persons that will buy shares for more than 5,000 somoni will be given special inscribed Certificates of Shares.
