DUSHANBE, July 16, 2013, Asia-Plus -- Repairs to the majority of roads in Dushanbe are expected to be completed by Independence Day, which is celebrated in Tajikistan on September 9, Suhrob Mirzoyev, the head of the road maintenance department, Dushanbe mayor’s office told Asia-Plus today.
Asked about reconstruction of the bridge across the Dushanbinka River (Saadi Sherozi Avenue), Mirzoyev said that the work on reconstruction of the southern part of the bridge would be completed in early August and the work on reconstruction of the northern part of the bridge would begin.
“Therefore, traffic along the Saadi Sherozi Avenue will remain limited during a couple of months,” Mirzoyev said, adding that enough finance and building materials have been provided to the builders.
We will recall that the Dushanbe mayor’s office began reconstruction of the bridge across the Dushanbinka River in May and the city budget has allocated more than 14 million for reconstruction of the bridge and approach roads.
