DUSHANBE, March 14, 2014, Asia-Plus – On Thursday March 13, President Emomali Rahmon participated in laying out an orchard in the Qizilqala jamoat of the Khuroson district, Khatlon province.
According to the Tajik president’s official website, this orchard will spread over more than 600 hectares and export sorts of apricots, plums pears and grapes will be planted in that orchard.
This year, fruit trees will be planted on more than 150 hectares and 300 local residents will be placed in jobs.
When the orchard area reaches 600 hectares, more than 1,200 people will provided with jobs, the website said.
During a meeting with local residents, President Rahmon reportedly pointed to the necessity of rationally using lands and laying out new orchards and vineyards.
