DUSHANBE, May 2, 2014, Asia-Plus -- Tajik government discussed preparations for autumn-winter period 2014-2015 at an April 30 meeting, presided over by President Emomali Rahmon.
According to the president’s official website, the meeting participants endorsed the plan of actions to ensure regular work of the country’s economy during the autumn-winter period. A republican commission was set up to control preparations for autumn-winter period 2014-2015.
A number of staff changes were introduced during the meeting and memberships of boards of a number of ministries and agencies were approved.
Besides, the head of the Mastchoh district (Sughd province) reported on measures to improve the state of agricultural lands in the district. He, in particular, noted that there were 30,500 irrigated lands in Mastchoh and the state of 1,170 hectares of lands has been improved over the last three years.
The meeting participants also endorsed amendments proposed to the country’s laws on international agreements and targeted social assistance.
They also approved the national domestic violence prevention program designed for 2013-2023, the preschool and secondary educational institution development program designed for 2014-2020, and the militsiya (police) reform program designed for 2014-2020.
