Tajikistan’s lower house (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament has endorsed the country’s law on standard and legal acts in new edition.
A regular sitting of the Majlisi Namoyandagon, presided over by its head, Shukrjon Zuhurov, took place on April 12.
Presenting the bill to lawmakers, Deputy Justice Minister, Abdumannon Kholiqzoda, said they had received 171 proposals from parliamentarians and “we used 90 percent of those proposals while working out the new law.”
According to him, a special attention was paid to improvement of the lawmaking activity and bringing the country’s legal system into compliance with present-day requirements.
“The law on standard and legal acts must be a pattern for working out other laws,” the deputy minister said.
Under the country’s law on standard and legal acts the lawmaking entities include the people of Tajikistan, joint meetings of the Majlisi Namoyandagon and the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament), the Majlisi Namoyandagon, the Majlisi Milli, the President of Tajikistan, the Government of Tajikistan, ministries, state committee and other public organs, the Majlises of people’s deputies of the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Organ (GBAO), provinces and Dushanbe City, the Majlises of people’s deputies of districts and cities, heads of districts and cities, bodies of self-government of settlements and villages.
