On Thursday October 15, President Emomali Rahmon began a three-day visit to the northern Sughd province, according to the Tajik president’s official website.
On October 15, the head of state held meetings with residents of the province and inaugurated a number of economic and social facilities in Khujand and Bobojon-Ghafourov district.
In Bobojon-Ghafourov district, Rahmon, in particular, attended an official opening ceremony of the Trade and Service Center “Sughdiyon” and presented gifts to 150 orphaned children.
In Khujand, the president inaugurated a new Treatment and Diagnostic Center “Shifobakhshi Asr”, three new technological lines launched at the “Saihoun” Limited Liability Company (LLC), a technological line launched at the “Mahmoudov G.” LLC and a chocolate producing workshop “Halovat”.
The treatment and diagnostic center was built by local entrepreneur Nasim Mirpochoyev.
Three new technological lines launched at the “Saihoun” LLC will produce wines, disinfectants and flour products.
The new technological line launched at the “Mahmoudov G.” LLC will produce ten types of cookies.
The chocolate producing workshop “Halovat” launched in the north-east industrial zone of Khujand was built by local entrepreneur Yusufjon Abdurahimov.
On Friday October 16, Emomali Rahmon attended festivities dedicated to the 700th anniversary of the birth of Tajik poet Kamol Khujandi. The festivities took place in Khujand.
