Today, on August 15, the working visit of the President of the country Emomali Rahmon to the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region began.

The trip began with a visit to the Darvaz district. The Head of State got acquainted with the work on the repair and restoration of the “Kalai Humb – Vanj highway, the border of the Rushan district”, the presidential press service reports.

Restoration work on this road began at the end of September 2021. The project envisages the repair of 109 km of the Darvaz-Vanj road. It is expected that after the reconstruction, the length of the road will be reduced by 16 km and will amount to 92.3 km.

It will have 15 automobile bridges, as well as two tunnels with a length of more than 5 km.

Also, in Darvaz Emomali Rahmon took part in the opening ceremony of the "Musicians' Square", which was created in memory of famous representatives of the culture and art spheres of the country at the entrance to Darvaz. Monuments of People's Artists of Tajikistan Akasharif Juraev and Abdullo Nazri, as well as Tajik-Persian musician Borbadi Marvazi are installed on the square.
