On November 29, President Emomali Rahmon chaired a government meeting where the 2025–2029 Agricultural Mechanization Development Program was discussed.
The Tajik president’s official website says the program, based on the National Development Strategy for the period up to 2030, aims to establish a solid foundation for sustainable agricultural mechanization and the overall development of the sector.
The program reportedly outlines approaches to mechanizing agronomic activities for crop cultivation and livestock development through innovations, modern machinery, technological processes, and solutions to sectoral challenges.
Emomali Rahmon instructed relevant ministries, government agencies, and regional authorities to timely and effectively implement the program, aiming to boost agricultural production and its contribution to Tajikistan’s economic and social development.
Draft laws on the state material reserves and amendments to the Tax Code were submitted to parliament after government discussion.
The Tax Code amendments reportedly aim to resolve disputes between taxpayers and tax authorities, eliminate ambiguities, and improve the business and investment climate, reflecting the president’s December 23, 2022, address on Tajikistan’s domestic and foreign policy priorities, the press service emphasized.
Additionally, the National Water Strategy of Tajikistan until 2040 was reviewed and approved.
At the meeting's conclusion, the president issued instructions to expedite autumn sowing, summarize results effectively, prepare for the International Glacier Protection Conference and the UN Water Resources Conference in Tajikistan, and organize festivities for Navrouz 2025 and the 35th Anniversary of Tajikistan’s Independence.
