DUSHANBE, August 17, 2011, Asia-Plus - Ramzi Gulobov, a 25-year-old Tajik border guard, resident of Vakhsh region, reported killed on August 16th by Afghan traffickers on the territory of Anjirob village of Shurobod region of Khatlon District which borders Afghanistan.
According to the Tajik State National Security Committee, captain Gulobov was killed on the way to his base located in Hamadoni.
“Two armed citizens of Afghanistan attacked Gulobov on Darvaz-Kulob highway. Wounded officer took weapon of one of the attackers and wounded him,” the source reported.
The attackers have managed to cross Tajik-Afghan border before the police have arrived at the scene.
According to Tajik security services, this is the seventh murder of Tajik officer in Shurobod section of Tajik-Afghan border committed by Afghan traffickers.
