The police have arrested another three suspected members of the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan, all three residents of Kizil Nishon village of Kubodiyen region of Khatlon province.
All three residents of Kizil Nishon village, a 23-year-old graduate of the Tajik-Russian Slavic University Asliddin Navruzov, 22-year-old Nuriddin Isakhanov and 39-year-old Zilmurod Ishakhanov, who is suspected of being IMU’s emir for Kabodiyen region, are facing charges under Article 187 part 2 (Organization of a criminal group) and Article 307 note 3 part 2 (Organization of activity of extremist organization) of the Criminal Code of Tajikistan.
It should be noted that another resident of this very village, Bahtiyer Umarov, who was arrested on the territory of Pakistan and later extradited to Tajikistan amid February, was sentenced to jail last week for similar crimes. Kabodiyen regional court has found him guilty under similar articles of the Criminal Code of Tajikistan and sentenced him to 10 years in prison.
