DUSHANBE, January 5, 2014, Asia-Plus – An operation carried out by officers from the Interior Ministry’s office for the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO) in the Murgab district on January 1 led to the seizure of a large amount of hashish, according to the Interior Ministry’s website.
71.48 kilograms of hashish were reportedly found in the trunk of Mitsubishi Pajero of Khorog resident Amirali Javov, 29. The driver and his two passengers – Karamali Mardonshoyev, 44, and Azam Imomdodov, 30 – were detained.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted and an investigation is under way.
