DUSHANBE, February 8, 2016, Asia-Plus -- Resident of the northern city of Panjakent has reportedly been detained with a large amount of hashish at Tajik-Uzbek border.
According to the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) public relations center, an operation carried out by the SCNS’s office in Sughd province at the end of last week led to the arrest of a resident of the Sarazm jamoat subordinate to the city of Panjakent.
A package of narcotic drug that tested positive to hashish weighing 9.5 kilograms was confiscated from him.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the alleged drug trafficker and an investigation is under way.
