It will become part of the unified air defense system of the CIS member states.

President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon instructed the relevant structures to approve and sign the draft Agreement between Tajikistan and Russia on the creation of a unified regional air defense system.

The corresponding decree was signed by the head of Tajikistan on September 12 this year.

The draft document states that the agreement is concluded in order to increase the effectiveness of air defense in the region.

This agreement will become part of the unified air defense system of the CIS member states.

«The parties, taking into account the disunity of the territories of Tajikistan and Russia, within the region allocate a separate area of collective security within the territory and airspace of Tajikistan», - says the draft.

It is noted that the coordination of joint actions of troops is carried out by the Commander-in-Chief of the Aerospace Forces of Russia, Colonel-General Sergei Surovikin.

The agreement is concluded for a period of five years. In the future, its effect is automatically extended for the next five years, if none of the parties notifies of its intention to terminate it.
