Next year, Tajikistan will chair the organization.
On October 6, in Moscow, a delegation of Tajikistan headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Muzaffar Huseynzoda took part in the events of the CSTO Days, timed to coincide with the 18th anniversary of the signing of the Organization's Charter, the information department of the country's Foreign Ministry reports.
Within the framework of the events, a joint photo exhibition “Guarding the World” was opened. CSTO member states in international peacekeeping activities. The delegations also took part in the round table "CSTO: Guidelines for Strategic Development" with the participation of the Deputy Foreign Ministers of the Organization's member states.
At the meeting, Muzaffar Huseynzoda shared the Tajik side's vision of the further development of the CSTO activities. The importance of maintaining the Organization's focus on countering modern challenges and threats was emphasized - international terrorism and extremism, illegal drug and arms trafficking, organized crime, illegal migration and human trafficking - remain topical both on the international and regional agendas.
In December of this year, the chairmanship of the CSTO will be transferred to Tajikistan.
