He will check the readiness of the troops for the final stage of the CSTO exercises in Tajikistan, a source in the country's defense department said.

According to him, on October 19, the commander of the Central Military District of Russia, Alexander Lapin, arrived in Tajikistan to check the readiness of the military contingents for the final stage of the three exercises of the member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) that started on October 18.

Special exercises "Echelon", "Search" and the joint exercise of the CSTO CRRF "Interaction" are held from October 18 to 23 at the Tajik training grounds "Harbmaidon" and "Momirak", near the border with Afghanistan.

4 thousand servicemen take part in joint maneuvers and more than 500 pieces of equipment from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan are involved.
