The International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs section (INL) of the U.S. Embassy in Dushanbe in cooperation with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), is announcing the launch of a new project, “Capacity Building of the Drug Control Agency of Tajikistan (DCA),” focused on enhancing the capacity of the Vetted Unit and Forensic Laboratory, as well as other departments and units of the DCA.

According to the U.S> Embassy, the project is expected to last 24 months at a cost of $900,000.00.

The main goal of the project is to enhance DCA’s capacity in the fight against transnational organized crime and illicit drug trafficking, including trafficking in new and emerging types of drugs, as well as to respond effectively by utilizing special investigative techniques in detection, investigation, and prosecution of crime.

Since 2003, INL has funded different DCA programs to enhance regional law enforcement capacity by providing technical assistance to the Government of Tajikistan and DCA.
