On September 19, the heads of the National Security Committees of Tajikistan, Saimumin Yatimov and Kyrgyzstan, Kamchybek Tashiev, signed another protocol on stabilizing the situation on the border and establishing peace between the countries.
This was reported in the press service of the chairman of the Sughd region of the Republic of Tajikistan.
According to the source, the meeting took place on the territory of the frontier post “Guliston” of Tajikistan.
«Saimumin Yatimov and Kamchybek Tashiev discussed issues of ensuring stability in the border regions of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, and also stressed the obligatory observance of the ceasefire», - the source said.
According to him, the signed agreement consists of three points:
- withdrawal of troops from the border line to the places of permanent deployment
- only border detachments will remain on the border of the two countries
- continue the process of resolving border issues, normalizing the situation in the border area.
It is also reported that after the meeting, four border guards were handed over to the Kyrgyz side, who were captured on September 16 during the act of aggression of Kyrgyzstan against Tajikistan.
Meanwhile, as the administration of the Sughd region reported today, the night passed calmly in the border areas, there were no incidents.
