KULOB, February 3, 2011, Asia-Plus -- The monument to Vose, the leader of a popular uprising in 1885, in the center square of the urban-type settlement of Vose, the administrative center of Vose district has been dismantled. The monument to Soviet leader Vladimir Lenin at a central location in the settlement will also be dismantled in the near future.
The deputy chairman of the Vose district administration, Jaloliddin Ikromov, says the statues will be relocated to the town’s central park.
“The statue of Lenin will just be relocated, while a new statue of Vose will be constructed, because the present statue does not bear resemblance to Vose,” Ikromov said.
