DUSHANBE, June 17, 2011, Asia-Plus - The beginning of the construction of Central Asia’s biggest mosque, that is planned to be constructed in Dushanbe and will be funded by the State of Qatar, was discussed during the meeting of the Tajik Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the State of Qatar (with residence in Islamabad) Zubaidullo Zubaidov with the Minister of State Cooperation, Dr. Khalid Al Attiyah.

The sides have also discussed the issues of construction of a new microregion of “Diyeri Dushanbe”, the construction of which will be funded by the State of Qatar.

According to the Tajik Foreign Ministry’s press service, the Qatar’s Minister said that all required agreements on the beginning of the construction of the aforementioned objects are expected to be signed within the nearest time.

“Establishment of the intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation was discussed in the course of Tajikistan Ambassador’s meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar Muhammad Rumaykhi, who said that a special commission of representatives of the Qatar’s Foreign Ministry is planning to visit Dushanbe soon,” the source said.

Tajik Ambassador also met with Abdulaziz Nuaymi, Head of the Qatar’s state air company. According to the source, the sides have discussed the opening of a direct flight that would link the two countries.
