KULOB, August 26, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Sub-divisions of the Ministry of Land Reclamation and Water Resources (LRWR) operating in Khatlon’s Kulob region have agreed to repay their 12.2 million somoni debt to the Kulob regional power supply network.
The Kulob regional power supply network head Mirzo Ismoilov says a meeting to discuss issues related to repayment of electricity debts was held with participation of Khatlon governor Ghaybullo Avzalov. The meeting reportedly resulted in drawing a three-month debt repayment plan for the LRWR sub-divisions operating in the area.
According to Ismoilov, the meeting was a response of authorities to disconnection of electricity supply to the most incorrigible nonpayers. “Thus, we have cut off electricity supply to powerful pump stations in Vose district for two-three days and these measures have produced an effect,” he noted.
The LRWR sub-divisions are the most incorrigible nonpayers in the area; they now owe 12.245 million somoni to the Kulob regional power supply network, which operates electric networks in the Kulob region, except the city of Kulob and Danghara district.
