QURGHON TEPPA, February 7, Asia-Plus -- Power transmission lines in the city of Qurghon Teppa, the capital of Khatlon province do not withstand the loads.
An extreme cold weather has led to increase in the load on the city power supply network that has resulted in frequent accidents, Isomiddin Safarov, the head of the Qurghon Teppa power supply network, told Asia-Plus Tuesday afternoon.
According to him, three transformers have burnt out over the past two days alone, leaving several power transmission lines out of service.
“Since there is no power and heat plant in the city, people use electricity to heat their homes,” Safarov added.
