DUSHANBE, March 19, 2012, Asia-Plus -- A meeting to discuss creation of a special electronic service system for labor migrants took place in Dushanbe at the end of last week.
Human rights activists and organizations operating in the field of information and communications technologies (ICTs) voiced an idea of creating a special electronic resource containing all necessary information for labor migrants and providing them with access to governmental electronic services.
The Migration Service under the Government of Tajikistan accepted this offer and the Tajik Branch of the Open Society Institute/Assistance Foundation (OSI/AF-Tajikistan) and the public association, Center for Human Rights, will provide financial and consultative support for implementation of this project.
The list of electronic services may includes legal services and consultations for migrants as well as the possibility of drawing documents through Internet.
