KULOB, July 3, 2012, Asia-Plus -- Residents of the village of Kaduchi in Khatlon’s Vose district have reportedly got access to safe drinking water.
Sulton Valiyev, chairman of the Vose district, says Kaduchi, which is one of the largest settlements in the district, had experienced persistent shortages of drinking water for long years, but the scarcity of local budget had not allowed solving the problem.
According to him, local entrepreneurs – Fayzali Abdurahmonov, Davlat Sharbatov and Sherali Tabarov – have responded to the request of the local authorities and the population. “They have financed the construction of the water supply system,” Valiyev said.
Meanwhile, more than 3,000 people in the villages of Jonbakht and Darai Mukhtor in Khatlon’s Khovaling district have also got access to safe drinking water due to financial support of the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF).
