DUSHANBE, November 11, 2014, Asia-Plus – Days of Dushanbe are expected to take place in Saint Petersburg, Russia next year.
“On completion of Days of Saint Petersburg in Dushanbe, Saint Petersburg Governor Georgy Poltavchenko proposed to Dushanbe Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev to hold Days of Dushanbe in Saint Petersburg next year,” Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor’s office, told Asia-Plus in an interview.
We will recall that Days of Saint Petersburg took place in Dushanbe on November 7-8. On the sidelines of the event, the sides signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation in the field of labor migration and an agreement on cooperation between School No 261 located in Saint Petersburg’s Kirov district and Dushanbe’s School No 92.
Saint Petersburg is one of the first to sign a sister city agreement with Dushanbe. The agreement was signed on October 6, 1991.
