Dushanbe city court will announce the verdict to the lawyer Buzurgmehr Yorov on Thursday, October 6, reported Yorov’s sister Hosiyat. Today, October 3, after the speech of Yorov with the last statement, the court retired to the deliberation room.

In his last words Yorov asked the judge, Asadullo Bobohonzoda to acquit him and let go. Recall that on the 27^th of September Yorov said that “he is not an extremist, he is a lawyer”. According to him, he protected the members of the banned in Tajikistan Islamic Renaissance Party not because of the sympathy for the IRP, but out of a sense of professional duty.

Today's hearing again took place behind the closed doors, the court allowed only relatives of the accused lawyer - Buzurgmehr Yorov and Nuriddin Mahkamov.

The details of Yorov’s performance told to the journalists his sister Hosiyat. According to her, the lawyer stated that when the relatives of the detained members of the IRPT asked for his help he couldn't say no. "He's just a lawyer doing his professional duty, if the members of the IRP were found guilty, what is his fault", - says Hosiyat.

On the 19^th of September Rustam Takdirzoda, the state Prosecutor, asked Dushanbe city court to sentence Buzurgmehr Yorov to 25 years, and Nuriddin Mahkamov to 23 years of imprisonment.

Buzurgmehr Yorov and Nuriddin Mahkamov are accused of inciting national, racial, religious and regional hatred and incitement to change the constitutional order.

Muazzama Kodirova, a lawyer of Yorov and Mahkamov, did not agree with the requirement of the public Prosecutor and in the last word asked the court to render a fair verdict against her clients.

A well-known lawyer Buzurgmehr Yorov started to defend the interests of 13 members of banned political Council of the IRPT in mid-September last year. Two weeks later, he was arrested first on charges of fraud, and then on the other three counts.
