By Dushanbe mayor’s order close circuit cameras and metal detectors will be installed in all mosques in Dushanbe.
A network of close circuit cameras will be available for scrutiny online in Dushanbe Central Mosque named after Hoji Yaqub.
These measures are reportedly aimed at providing security for the worshippers and helping to strengthen public order.
This decision has been made following request from sarkhatib (the chief cleric) of the Dushanbe Central Mosque and imam-khatibs of Dushanbe Friday mosques and opinion of the Committee on Religious Affairs under the Government of Tajikistan.
