A Japanese cultural event is opening in Dushanbe on December 20.
According to Japan’s Embassy in Dushanbe, photo exhibition entitled “Gazing at the Contemporary World, Japanese Photography from the 1970’s to the Present” introduces the contemporary photography of Japan, from the 1970s to the present day, through the works of notable photographers selected in two categories: figures and landscapes.
The photos will exhibit, in varying perspectives, the changes within the Japanese society from the time of the rapid economic growth to the present days. On this occasion, the works of the 23 famous modern photographers from Japan will be shown.
Hosted by the Embassy of Japan in Dushanbe and the Japan Foundation in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, National Library of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Culture of Tajikistan, the exhibition is being held at National Library of Tajikistan.
It will be held from December 20-27, from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm. The opening ceremony will take place on December 20 at 14:00. On the last day (December 27), the exhibition will be opened till 12:00.
