Tajik President Emomali Rahmon and Dushanbe Mayor Rustam Emomali today attended an official opening ceremony of Military Lyceum named after Kurushi Kabir (Cyrus the Great).

The lyceum, which consists of three two-story buildings, has been established at the Main Border Guard Directorate of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS).

Every year, the Military Lyceum can accommodate up to 100 school students finishing the 9th grade.  Most cadets of this military lyceum will be orphans and half-orphans.

The lyceum program consists of a two-year intensive study.  In addition to the main disciplines, the cadets will also learn English, Russian, Chinese and Turkish languages.

The lyceum graduates may continue their higher education in military schools in Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and some other countries on the basis of bilateral agreements.
