Electricity debts of Bokhtar, the capital of the Khatlon province, have reached 77 million somoni (TJS), Ahliddin Sharifzoda, the head of the Bokhtar electricity sales department, told Asia-Plus in an interview. According to him, the most incorrigible nonpayers are the state-run enterprises.
The Bokhtar electricity sales department has made a list of nonpayers. The list includes more than 100 state-run enterprises and private companies. More than 70 state-run enterprises, mostly health and education facilities, are on this list. According to Sharifzoda, the most incorrigible nonpayers are the state-run enterprises.
“The largest electricity debtors are the central city hospital – 484,934 somoni, regional clinical hospital – 195,859 somoni, Amonatbonk (Tajikistan’s savings bank)’s brunch No 42 – 120,000 somoni, Recandai Qurghon Teppa Ltd – 100,000 somoni, Khatlon health directorate – 47,206 somoni, and the Rod Maintenance Directorate for Bokhtar (Vakhsh) region – 93,372 somoni,” Sharifzoda said.
Meanwhile, the deputy director of Amonatbonk’s brunch No 42, Gulmahmad Taghoyev, says they do not have electricity debts.
“They say the debt accrued in 2016. But there is no signature of our representative on the bill they showed us. We do not know where this amount of 120,000 somoni came from,” Taghoyev said.
“If they are confident in their arguments, then let them sue,” Taghoyev added.
The chief accountant of Amonatbonk’s brunch No 42, Asadullo Barotov, says they have paid for electricity regularity.
Ahliddin Sharifzoda, for his part, noted that they had submitted all materials regarding Amonatbonk’s electricity debts to the offices of the regional and city prosecutors. “We have not yet received answers from them,” Sharifzoda said.
According to him, total electricity debts of the city of Bokhtar have reached 77 million somoni.
