Tajik authorities plan to update the country’s education system in accordance with the best world practices.

“The new education will meet requirements of digital economy with focus on, first of all, development of information analysis skills and creative thinking,” the country’s digital economy concept says.

The “Information Technology” subject will be introduced in schools by stages, hours of the “Programming Basics” subject will be increased beginning from grade 2 and programs for grades 5-11 will be supplemented by STEM elements (robotics, virtual reality, 3D-printing and so forth).

Model education plans and programs for higher and post-graduate education will also be modernized on the basis of professional standards and labor market requirements in terms of introduction of the “Information and Communication Technology” discipline for all specialties.

Transition of Tajikistan’s economy to the digital system is inevitable.  It is the calling of our time.  By taking the right measures the government bodies will create the environment that will be favorable for development of the digital economy in the provinces.

The key factor of the digital transformation of activities of market entities is development of the digital culture.  At the present stage of socio-economic transformation of society, the environment has implications for the institutional structure of society causing the need of formation of fundamentally new concepts and approaches.

Tajikistan is developing the digital economy concept and plans to introduce digital technologies in socioeconomic sectors.
