The Closed Joint-Stock Company (CJSC) Safed-Dara has built a new modern base camp for mountaineers on the Moskvin Glade at the altitude of more than 4000 meters above sea level in the Lakhsh (formerly Jirgatol) district in the Rasht Valley (eastern Tajikistan).

The Moskvin Glade leads to relatively simple and safe routes to the nearest and highest peaks in the Pamirs – Ismoili Somoni Peak (formerly Communism Peak --7,495 meters) and Ozodi Peak (formerly Korzhenevskaya Peak -- 7,105 meters).

CJSC Safed-Dara was the project owner and CJSC Qullahoi Tojik (Tajik Peaks) was the contractor.

The new base camp was built not far from the Alp-Navrouz base camp that had been built in the Soviet era.  The Alp-Navrouz base camp is located on the Moskvin Glade in a sub-alpine zone 4,200 meters above sea level.

In parallel, the work on rehabilitation of the Lakhsh airport has been carried out.  This airport will be used to transfer climbers to the camp during the Ismoili Somoni climb season, which lasts from July to September.

Asia-Plus photographer flew to the camp and made a photo report.
