It's all about transit passengers.
Until Tashkent opens air communication with Asian and European countries, it is premature to talk about the resumption of flights between the capitals of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, said a source in the government of Tajikistan.
«The fact is that most of the passengers on the Dushanbe-Tashkent flight are transit passengers, which are used by Tashkent airport for onward flights to Europe and Asia, as well as the United States», - noted the source.
According to him, to date, such flights from the capital of Uzbekistan have been suspended and "no airline can incur huge losses when flying on the Dushanbe-Tashkent route".
«Therefore, we can say that flights between the capitals of the two states will resume after Tashkent starts flights to other countries of the world», - the source said.
