Tajik capital is hosting the 2022 Asian Road and Para Cycling Championships in late March.  The event will take place from March 25-29.  Tajikistan expects guests from 30 Asian countries.

The Asian Cycling Championships is an annual continental cycling championships for road bicycle racing and track cycling since 1963, exclusively for Asian cyclists selected by the national governing body (member nations of the Asian Cycling Confederation).

Since 2017, competitions on road and track cycling have been held separately. Bahrain, Myanmar, Uzbekistan, Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) hosted the first five Asian road cycling championships.    


The Asian Road & Para Cycling Championships that we are hosting this month is an international event and a new event in history of independent Tajikistan,” said Isfandiyor Ayubov, the Secretary-General of the Tajikistan Cycling Federation.  “Coverage of such an event requires high professionalism and extensive experience in preparing materials about international events.  We are glad that Asia-Plus Media Group will act as our information partner.”

For his part, Iskandar Ikrami, the Executive Director of Asia-Plus Media Group, expressed readiness that holding the Asian Cycling Championships in Tajikistan will give an additional impetus to the development and popularization of not only cycling in Tajikistan but also the development of domestic sports in general.

The decision on holding the 2022 Asian Road & Para Cycling Championships in Tajikistan was adopted during a meeting between Dushanbe Mayor Rustam Emomali and Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC) President Osama Al Shafar that took place in Dushanbe on June 18, 2021.  The initiative to hold this event in Tajikistan was put forward by Dushanbe mayor.  The parties emphasized that this kind of events is aimed at presenting the economic, social and cultural achievements and amazing nature of Tajikistan to foreign visitors and develop regional tourist routes.
